How Your Data is Processed
AI Provider
Orion's AI features are powered by OpenAI. They are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their models. Data is processed transiently and not retained.
Data Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We comply with GDPR and CCPA where applicable.
What AI Can Access
Only data you've explicitly added: session notes, transcripts, goals, and previous AI conversations. AI cannot access data from other users or external sources.
What AI Cannot Do
We believe in honest representation of AI capabilities.
AI is NOT:

- ✕Able to provide professional, medical, legal, or financial advice
- ✕100% accurate — AI may make mistakes or misunderstand context
- ✕A substitute for professional judgment

Standard 2.5 Compliance
The ICF Code of Ethics Standard 2.5 requires coaches to fulfill ethical obligations “through any technology systems” including AI. Orion supports this through:

You always can. Your coach can only see what you explicitly choose to share.
Can coaches customize how the AI interacts with each client?
Yes! Coaches can set "Prompt Directives" for each client, guiding the AI's tone, focus areas, and preferred coaching frameworks. This makes each client's AI experience personalized to their specific coaching journey.
How does AI affect my ICF credential?
Orion is designed to help you meet ICF Standard 2.5 requirements. You remain responsible for ethical AI use in your practice.
Can I delete my AI data?
Yes. You can delete AI conversation history anytime in Settings or request full deletion by contacting support.
